Why one number isn’t enough
Every skin trades on several marketplaces at once, and each has its own price for the same item. That is liquidity, fees and region differences, not an error. Value your whole inventory at Steam prices and you overstate it (Steam takes a ~15% cut and the balance can’t be cashed out); value it at Buff163 and you are looking at the Chinese market in yuan. A good valuation shows all of them side by side, so you can read the number that matches how you would actually sell.

Set your Steam inventory to public
In Steam, go to Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings and set Inventory to Public. A private inventory can’t be read by any tracker — this is the most common reason a valuation comes back empty.

What actually moves a skin’s value
Two copies of the “same” skin can be worth wildly different amounts. If a valuation only reads the item name, it misses most of what collectors pay for. These are the attributes that matter:
Float / wear
The 0–1 wear value. A low-float Factory New can be worth multiples of a Field-Tested of the same skin.
Doppler phase
Dopplers aren’t one skin — Phase 1–4, Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl each carry very different prices.
Fade percentage
On Fade skins, a higher fade % (90%+) commands a premium over a plain Fade.
Case Hardened blue gem
Pattern index decides it — top blue-gem patterns on a Case Hardened sell for enormous multiples.
StatTrak & souvenir
A StatTrak or Souvenir variant is a different market item entirely, priced on its own.
Stickers & charms
Rare or craft stickers can add more value than the skin beneath them — often missed by simple totals.
