Privacy Policy

SkinROI (“we”, “the app”) is a free tool for Counter-Strike 2 players to track the value, prices, and profit/loss of their in-game skin inventory, across the web app at skinroi.gg and the SkinROI iOS app. This policy explains what we collect and why. SkinROI is a tracker/valuation tool only — it does not trade, buy, or sell items and never asks for your Steam password.

What we collect

  • Steam account (public): when you sign in with Steam (OpenID), we receive and store your public SteamID, persona name, avatar, profile URL, and — when your profile exposes it — country. We never receive or store your Steam password.
  • Your CS2 inventory: items in your public Steam inventory (name, float, applied stickers/charms) so we can value them.
  • Purchases you enter: cost-basis amounts, dates, and notes you add yourself to track profit/loss.
  • Email (optional): only if you set up a price alert or save a default alert email. Used solely to send the alerts you request.
  • Optional credentials (optional): if you choose to connect your own CSFloat API key or Steam login cookie for richer pricing, they are stored to make requests on your behalf. You can remove them at any time in Settings.
  • Device push token (optional): if you enable notifications, your Apple Push (APNs) device token is stored to deliver price alerts.
  • Anonymous analytics: we record page views with a daily-rotating, non-reversible visitor hash. We do not store your IP address, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

To show your inventory value and price history, compute profit/loss, deliver the price alerts you create, optionally show an anonymous public portfolio page if you turn it on, and understand aggregate usage. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third parties

We share data only as needed to provide the service:

  • Steam / Valve — to authenticate you and read your public profile & inventory.
  • Pricing providers (steamwebapi, CSFloat, Steam Community Market, Buff163, Skinport) — market prices are queried by skin name, not tied to your identity.
  • Resend — to send alert emails to the address you provide.
  • Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you opt into.
  • frankfurter.dev — currency exchange rates (no personal data sent).

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can clear connected credentials and turn off the public portfolio at any time in Settings. To delete your account and associated data, email us at the address below and we’ll remove it.

Children

SkinROI is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
