Terms of use

SkinROI, at skinroi.gg and in the SkinROI iOS app, is published by Ludovic Zammit, a private individual in Québec, Canada, as a free, non-commercial project. There is no company. Details are on the legal notice.

By signing in or using the site or the app you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use SkinROI.

SkinROI reads your public Counter-Strike 2 inventory, values it with prices from third-party markets, keeps price history, lets you record purchases and sales to see profit or loss, and can alert you when a price crosses a level you set. It is a tracker and a valuation tool. It does not buy, sell, trade or hold items, and it never asks for your Steam password.

The service is free and provided as is, with no promise that it is complete, accurate or always available. It is run by one person in their spare time. Features may change, be limited or be removed, and the service may be paused or shut down.

• You need a Steam account to sign in. Sign-in goes through Steam’s own OpenID page; SkinROI receives your public SteamID and profile, nothing more.
• Your Steam inventory must be set to public for SkinROI to read it. You can make it private again at any time; SkinROI then keeps the last snapshot it saw until you delete it or your account.
• Your use of Steam remains subject to Valve’s own terms. SkinROI is not affiliated with Valve Corporation.

For richer pricing you may choose to store a CSFloat API key, a Steam Web API key or a Steam login cookie in Settings. This is entirely optional.

• They are used only to fetch data for you (market history, prices, inventory) and are encrypted at rest.
• You can remove them at any time in Settings, and they are deleted with your account.
• A Steam login cookie grants access to your Steam session; storing it in any third-party tool, this one included, is a risk you accept. Do not store it if you are not comfortable with that, and rotate it if you suspect a problem.
• You are responsible for what the credentials you provide allow, and for staying within the terms of the service that issued them.

Every price shown comes from third-party markets (Steam Community Market, CSFloat, Buff163, Skinport) or from calculations on their data, such as fee-adjusted payouts, phase ratios or scarcity signals. Prices can be wrong, stale, delayed, thinly traded or unavailable, and a listing price is not a price anyone will pay you.

Nothing on SkinROI is financial, investment or tax advice, and the publisher is not a licensed advisor. Decisions to buy, sell, hold or trade items are yours alone.

SkinROI runs on one small server and on third-party price feeds with paid quotas. To keep it working for everyone:

• Use it through the website, the iOS app, or the personal token the app issues to you. Do not scrape, crawl, bulk-download or mirror the site, its price pages or its API.
• Do not try to get around the limits: inventory syncs have a short cooldown (about three minutes), each account tracks a bounded number of skins and watchlist entries, and price refreshes share a provider budget. Requests beyond these limits are refused.
• Do not probe, overload, or attempt to break into the service, and do not use it to harm Steam, the markets we read from, or other users.
• Do not use another person’s Steam account or credentials.
• One person, one account. Sharing a session or an app token is on you.

We may slow down, restrict or block access that breaks these rules, without notice when needed to protect the service.

Purchases, sales, notes, alerts and watchlist entries you add are yours. You give SkinROI only the permission needed to store them and show them back to you.

The public portfolio page is opt-in. It exists only when you turn it on in Settings, lives at a random address that reveals nothing about your Steam account, shows your inventory value and top skins and never your purchase prices or profit or loss. While it is on, it is public: anyone with the link can see it and search engines may index it. Turn it off in Settings at any time and it stops answering.

• You can delete your account at any time in Settings on the web or in the iOS app. Deletion is immediate and complete; see the privacy policy for exactly what goes.
• We can suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service or harms other users, and we can stop offering the service altogether. We will try to give notice on the site when we can, but cannot always promise it.
• Sections on liability, intellectual property and governing law survive the end of your account.

To the extent the law allows, SkinROI and its publisher are not liable for losses that come from relying on a price, valuation or alert; from a missed, late or wrong alert; from an outage or a change of Steam or of a market we read from; from loss of data you entered; from the use of credentials you chose to store; or from anything else arising from using or being unable to use a free service provided as is.

Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, including for fraud, or the rights your local consumer law makes mandatory if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom.

The service evolves, and these terms may change too. The date at the top is updated whenever they do, and a change that reduces your rights is announced on the site before it applies. Using SkinROI after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Québec. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not take away the protections your local consumer law makes mandatory, and you keep the right to bring a claim before your local courts.
